CAS(E) this Sketch #94 - Mama Elephant September Challenge - The Card Concept Challenge

Good afternoon everyone!

My card for CAS(E) this Sketch #94 -
Mama Elephant September Challenge -
 The Card Concept Challenges.

Today I am back with a card that I started to create for Mama Elephant September Challenge. I wanted to take part in this challenge using Mama elephant stamp set Up and Away. I also wanted to use this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #94. This is the sketch for this week.

I really had trouble with this this week's sketch. This is a wonderful sketch but it really made me to try out hard before I was pleased with the design. For the background I used Distress Inks (Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Rusty Hinge, Fired Brick) I splattered some Perfect Pearls to give some shine and interest. In Mama Elephant Challenge it was to use paper piercing so I stamped the umbrellas to a pattered paper from Dovecrafts. I added some shading with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. On the day that I was making this card, there was an awful fall storm here in Northern Finland. Somehow these flying umbrellas pleased my mind with the sound of wind blowing in the background. For the final touch I added a few gemstones around the umbrellas and a little bit of Wink of Stella glitter for the umbrellas. In the end I was very pleased with the card. After I had made this card I noticed that its colours were perfect for the Card Concept #19 - Color Challenge. I will enter this card in that challenge also and I'll choose the Freestyle Collage category for my card.

I will also share this other card that I made at the same time with Mama Elephant stamps. My godson is turning one this weekend and this is his Happy Birthday card.

My godson's Happy Birthday Card.

For the background I used New Sprout, Bamboo leaves and Cantaloupe Memento inks. I coloured the images with Derwent Inktense pencils.

Thank you for stopping by and if my creations made you think of something I really would love to hear them. Please, feel free to leave a comment. I really like reading them. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting to all of you!

CASE Study Challenge #209 and Altenew September Challenge

Good morning!

My card for CASE Study Challenge #209.
This card was in Top 3 in the challenge.

My card for Altenew September Challenge.
This card was one of the winners in the challenge.

Today I am back with two cards that I made yesterday. Started with a card in mind for this week's CASE Study Challenge #209 and ended up making two cards with different colour themes with the same design. This week's challenge is inspired by Debbie Hughes and this is the inspiration photo.

I was inspired by craft card stock and white colour.

A few days ago I made a card with these Magnolia stamps by Altenew. I water coloured them with distress inks. I wasn't quite happy with my colouring so I kept practising and tried different colours and shades. For both of the cards for today I used Antique Linen for the main colour and added some shading with Gathered Twigs and Rusty Hinge. I also added a little bit Perfect Pearls for the water to give some shine. My card base is Neenah Desert Storm card stock and I die cut a frame using a die from Spellbilder's Nestabilities Distress Edges die set. The branch die cut on the back is a die from Memory Box called Blooming branch. On the background I used some old hand made paper which I can't remember who's made it and where. The sentiment and the little dragonfly are from a stamp set called Wildflowers by Technique Tuesday.

My second card is basically the same as the first one but I used Memento inks: New Sprout and Bamboo Leaves for the branch and the sentiment tag. My card base is Neenah solar white card stock. I will enter the second card for Altenew September Challenge: From the craft room. The theme is Lime Lemonade. This is going to be my second entry for this month's challenge at Altenew but I can't help myself since I think this card is so much better than the first one that I made - especially my colouring. This is the inspiration photo for Altenew's challenge.

I was inspired by the background and and white, lime and yellow colours.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

CAS(E) this Sketch #93!

Good morning! With this card I will take part in CAS(E) this Sketch # 93 Challenge. This is the sketch which was the base for the inspiration.

I have had this photo frame idea on my head for some time now but never had time to make it into a card. When I saw this sketch I just had to make it. I also used some new supplies for this card - at least new to me -  and had a tons of fun experimenting what I can do with them. Firstly, the stamped images are Birch and Holly from Purple Onion design by Stacey Yacula. I coloured them with Derwent Inktense Pencils. For the photo frame I used dies from Spellbilder's Nestabilities Distressed Edges. I stamped the frame with Versamark and covered it with Black Glitter Embossing power by Papermania. For the snowflake I used a die from Marianne Design and stamped it with Versamark and covered it with Super Fine Silver Embossing power by Ranger. For some details I added a few gemstones around the frame and some Wink of Stella glitter pen for Birch's and Holly's hats. I wanted the sentiment to be in the picture, so I stamped it with Versafine Black ink and covered it with the same black glitter embossing power and heat set it.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day! Happy Crafting!

Altenew September challenge

Hi everybody! With this card I want to take part Altenew's new challenge: Altenew September Challenge. This month's theme is From the Craft Room: Lime Lemonade. This is the picture that is the base for the inspiration.

I was inspired by the colour theme and the flower in the picture. The stamp is Altenew's Magnolias for her and the the sentiment is from another Tecnique Tuesday's stamp set called One of a kind. I water coloured the magnolia with distress inks (Antique Linen and Pumice Stone). The background was created by Burlap layering stencil by Ranger with Memento inks (New Sprout and Cantaloupe). For the finishing touch I used few gemstones around the flower.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

CASE study challenge #207

Hi to all! Today I wanted to take part in CASE study challenge #207. In this challenge it is asked to make card inspired by this lovely card by Debbie Hughes which is shown below. I didn't have neither copic markes nor vellum so I had to improvise. I arranged my christmas ornaments with the same style as Debbie had in her card. Stamp images are from Enchanted Christmas stamp set by Papermania. I stamped them with white pigment ink on a black card stock and then coloured them with Derwent Metallic pencils. I have had this set of pencils for about a year and I hardly have used them. I am so glad that I finally found them. :) I think they are great for at least two reasons: firstly, you'll get nice vibrant colours on a non-white medium. But in addition if you use them for water-colour paper you can add water and they work as watercolour pencils. I used that technique yesterday for another card. I started to make christmas cards so the sentiment says Merry Christmas in Finnish.

Here is Debbie Hughes' card.

Thank you for stopping by. And thank you for your lovely comments. They really make my day every time. Have a wonderful day and happy crafting!

CAS(E) this sketch! #91

Hi everybody! I haven't been crafting since OCC Stretch your stamps 2. Those two weeks were so much fun but really heavy crafting. During the class it was so easy to start to craft, since everyday I was offered at least two or three ideas where to base my card design. Since then I've been lacking of that and it's been more difficult to start.

I haven't taken part into these crafting challenges but now I decided to start. :) I designed a card that was eligible to CAS(E) this sketch #91. (Or least I tried.) This is the sketch and

this is what I came up with.

My sister came by and brought me two sets of Enchanted Christmas stamp sets by Papermania. I looked at the sets and thought, o boy.. Well I like to challenge myself and wanted to try out if I could colour them at least decently. I used Derwent's Metallic Pencils. The sentiment says Merry Christmas in Finnish. I still think this card misses something, maybe splatters on the background?

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon again! Since then have a wonderful day and happy crafting!
